Beginning on 27 January, and continuing until 25 May 2024, the new edition of The Best of, the historic series of musical workshops and performances that the International Museum and Library of Music of Bologna offers children and parents to spend the weekend together playing, learning and having fun with music.
The very youngest children in the 0-36 months age group are the protagonists of the Mamamusica project, a regular appointment in the Museum of Music’s educational programme, both in the workshop version in several meetings and in the open version of the “disturbed” Mamamusica ensemble in which they can crawl to the rhythm of music played and sung live by musicians and their parents.
Children between the ages of 3 and 5 will enter the famous picture book A caccia dell’orso with their bodies and music, they will encounter a fantastic world by immersing themselves in La storia di Q (The Story of Q), 4-year-olds will be able to share a special artistic-musical family walk with the Kamishibai travelling theatre of Narrare i popoli, while 6-8-year-olds will enjoy the A tempo di Circo workshop with the Nando e Maila company.
Also back by popular demand is Il bambino prodigio, a “sonata” visit on Mozart’s childhood on the occasion of his 268th birthday.
